President's Message

Allegheny County Chiefs of Police Association
President - Chief Truver

Members and Visitors
to the Allegheny County Chiefs of Police Association website,
***
       It is my honor and privilege to serve as President of this prestigious association of Law Enforcement executives for 2017.

       According to our By-Laws, the purposes of the Association are to promote and foster a close relationship between its members and the public in law enforcement matters,

and to evaluate and disseminate pertinent information relating thereto; to plan for the education and training of municipal police officers;

to encourage social, patriotic, and fraternal activities in order to promote civic and cultural betterment in the communities they serve;

to aid in creating and maintaining adequate and proper standards for efficient law enforcement; to advance and develop effective means for the detection and prevention of crime

and to cooperate with all law enforcement agencies in connection therewith; and to advocate uniform legislative action pertaining to police officers of Boroughs, Townships, Towns, Home Rule Municipalities, and Third-class Cities in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

       The former Presidents and Executive Board members have provided sturdy framework to build on. In this time of uncertainty, waves of political change, cutting edge technology, and innovative crime detection and investigation techniques and improvements, we have one common goal: to provide for the safety and feeling of security for our constituents.

       Rest assured that our association will continue to provide guidance and resources for our members so that they may better serve their communities.

       Please accept our best wishes for a safe and healthy 2017.

Ken Truver, President (2017)
